Installing original Fog Lights

As my car didn't came prewired with the harness for the Fog Lights, so I had to make it myself.

If you have a US GXE all wires are already in-place and you just need to hook it up!

What you need to get:

So i started out wiring the switch, it has 6 connection points, but only 4 are used, 2 for the illumination of the switch and 2 for the relay.

The 2 connectors that has it's own "chamber" is not used, the 2 in the middle are for illumination and the last 2 is to activate the relay.

To hook it up to the illumination just run B/R and R/Y to the matching wires on another switch.

Now onto the connection to the relay:

The B wire goes to ground, I attached mine at the bottom screw for the fusebox.

OR/L you have to run out to the relay in the engine compartment, lucky for me there was already a hole in the firewall I could use.

The black wire is from my switch and the red one is connected to the lighting switch inside

light switch

Since It's illegal in Norway to use fog lights in combination with headlights I had to connect them in such a way that they does not turn on if the headlights are on (AUTO).

By connecting it to the big red/yellow wire you see a cut in on above picture it works like I want, I have to turn the lighting switch to the middle position (park lights) to get the fog lights on, butif I turn the switch to ON the fogs still work, but thats ok, as it's legal to use them with headlights if needed..

Then I had to solder the wires onto the fog lights, as I had no connectors, but if I get them later I can still use them

I got the brackets in place

Then I run the black wire to battery ground (-)

relay 2

The red wire I run to the relay, that I had placed inside the relay box (under the coolant overflow tank) and the last connector on the relay directly to the battery, ideally I should have used a fuse inbetween, but I'll fix that another time.
